Compliance Training

The problem:

A review found nearly half of staff — including all new hires — misunderstood key grading-policy components. That created consistency risk and potential audit issues.

The need was urgent: an engaging, accessible, clear solution that could drive full compliance quickly across new and current staff.

Goals:

  • Clarify high-risk policy components with real examples

  • Make decisions practiceable (not only readable)

  • Give staff job aids they could reuse while grading

  • Reach full completion/compliance on a short timeline

Approach:

  1. Analyzed the original training for content gaps and confusing areas.

  2. Redesigned into an interactive Google Slides microlearning experience with real examples and decision-making scenarios.

  3. Embedded downloadable job aids for reference and reinforcement.

  4. Ensured access through Teacher Access LMS.

  5. Deployed district-wide to new hires and current staff needing clarification.

  6. Tracked completion/adherence in the LMS.

Implementation:
The redesigned module was deployed district-wide, targeting both new hires and current staff who needed clarification on grading policy. Staff were guided through interactive slides with real-life examples, scenario-based decision points, and practical job aids. Completion and adherence were tracked through the LMS to ensure accountability.

Results:
The training delivered rapid and measurable results:

  • Week 1: 70% of staff achieved compliance

  • Week 2: 100% compliance, sustained thereafter

Reflection and Lessons Learned:
This project demonstrated the power of targeted, interactive microlearning for policy training. Key takeaways included:

  • Rapid redesign of existing prototypes can produce high-impact learning quickly

  • Scenario-based examples and embedded job aids enhance understanding and retention

  • Tracking completion and performance metrics ensures accountability and demonstrates ROI
